Dear Friends,

A year has passed and your generous contributions have made all the difference in the world for the residents and staff of Hillside House.  It has enabled them to take care of long overdue reparations to the facility and lifted the spirits of everybody living and working there – knowing that people like you care about their wellbeing.  This spring for example 480 original sprinkler-heads were replaced throughout the main building.  Thank you so much.  My gratitude to you is real.

As you know well, wear and tear is an ongoing process.  We are reaching out  once again for your support.  Hillside House has a therapy pool that can benefit the residents greatly.  Please see the photo above.  Since they spend most of their time confined in wheelchairs, being in water gives them wonderful therapeutic relief.  Water relaxes them in ways that other forms of therapy cannot, reducing tension, pain and discomfort, and increasing range of motion and strength.

Unfortunately the pool has been dormant because Hillside House has not had the money to patch up the pool, heat it, pay for the additional staff to work with the residents, and chemicals to keep the pool sanitary.  We are raising funds to revive it in times of need everywhere.  I hope we can look forward to your help again this year.  Thanks for joining me on this journey to make life better and fuller for Sophie and her beautiful friends at Hillside House.
