Hillside House 12th Annual Sunset Soiree
El Mirador Wine Challenge

Saturday, June 6th, 2015
4:00 to 7:30 pm
El Mirador Estate gardens, Montecito

Wine expert John Tilson

Honoring 2015 Person of Purpose
Dr. Thomas J. McCool, Ed.D.

In 1976, the Judgement of Paris wine competition shocked the world when California wines took first place, winning over the top French wineries. Acclaimed wine connoisseur John Tilson creates our own competition, with four California wines and four French wines vying for the crème de la crème.  Discover these exquisite wines and cast your own votes at our Soirée!

Held in the extraordinary gardens of El Mirador, the event includes a four-course dinner paired with two wines with each course, one Californian and one French, as well as fabulous raffle items and live music.

All proceeds support Hillside House, a home and therapeutic learning community for people with developmental disabilities. Your generosity helps to foster meaningful, healthy lives for our residents, who need our community's support to thrive.

Join us for a delightful and spirited summer evening in the magical gardens of El Mirador Estate in Montecito—made possible through the generosity of owner Tita Lanning—and help foster the dreams and abilities of the 59 exceptional people who live and learn at Hillside House.

About John Tilson:  John has been visiting vineyards and tasting wines around the world since the late 1960s and has written about many of them. John was the founder and managing editor of The Underground Wineletter, still a famed resource of information for wine lovers. Since 2009, The Underground went online, and John is the leading contributor. His personable, knowledgeable and completely unpretentious style of writing, and his enthusiasm for wine, have earned him a following world-wide, and he is often quoted in other major wine publications.

The Sunset Soirée is open to the public and we encourage all to attend to help make a difference for Hillside House.  If you have questions, please contact:
Curt Lauber in the Development Office
(805) 687-0788 ext. 115

We hope you will join us for this memorable evening.
